Associate Giving Campaign
Thousands of WellPoint associates demonstrate their compassion for helping those in need through the United Way or as part of the annual Associate Giving Campaign. This is another way our associates help improve the lives of the people we serve and the health of our communities. These charities bring comfort and relief to the sick and homeless, support education and community outreach programs, promote arts and culture and protect wildlife and the environment.

Volunteer Recognition Grants Program
Fostering and facilitating the involvement of WellPoint associates in charitable organizations is an important part of the company's commitment to good corporate citizenship.

The WellPoint Foundation's Volunteer Recognition Grants Program encourages and thanks associates who devote their personal time and skills to community service by providing grants to the charities and other organizations for which they volunteer. Eligible organizations include many non-profit health, human services, civic, arts, cultural and environmental groups as well as public and private elementary and secondary schools.

Under the program, the Foundation awards grants of $250 each to eligible non-profit organizations for which full-time and part-time associates volunteer at least 20 hours of their personal time during the year. Associates may request up to two grants each year. WellPoint's long-standing practice of reaching out to the community is central to the success and growth of our business. Bringing health care coverage to medically underserved communities, educating people to take an active role in their own health, working with our health care partners to improve quality of care and helping to shape public policy that makes health care more affordable, more accessible and better quality for everyone are the areas where we excel.
