Immigrant Children's Program benefits

With Wellpoint DC, your child goes to one main person for their healthcare. This person is called a primary care provider, or PCP. They can be a family or general practitioner, a nurse practitioner, an internist, or a pediatrician. More doctors and nurses join our plan every day.

Find a PCP in your area 

Everyone struggles sometimes, and everyday problems can lead to depression, anxiety, alcohol abuse, or drug abuse. We’re here if your child needs help. We have doctors, therapists, and counselors to help them with their behavioral health needs. All behavioral health services and treatments are private, and you don’t need a referral from your child’s PCP.

Your child’s benefits include a wide range of prescription and many over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. We work with CarelonRx to provide these benefits.

Review pharmacy benefits 

Your child’s dental benefits through Avesis include:

• Oral exam every six months
• X-rays once every three years
• Teeth cleaning every six months
• Tooth extractions and fillings (when medically needed)

These services are covered when you use an approved dental care provider. To make an appointment, find a dentist near you, or choose or change your child’s primary dental provider, call Avesis at 833-554-1012 (TTY 711).

Your child’s vision benefits through Avesis include:

• Glasses (frames and lenses) once every 24 months, or sooner if your child loses their glasses or if their prescription changes
• Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) services for kids under 21, including regularly scheduled and as-needed eye exams and eyeglasses

Healthy Rewards is a program that pays you for taking control of your child’s health. You can earn rewards for completing healthy activities like:

• Annual wellness and dental visits
• Vaccines
• Medication refills

Then redeem your Healthy Rewards via the Benefit Reward Hub.

We put tools and technologies in your hands to make it easier to access care and services. Your Care Plan is a tool for Immigrant Children’s Program enrollees. It helps you:

• Stay connected with your child’s care coordinator.
• Get your child’s care coordinator’s phone number and email address.
• Send secure messages about your child’s diagnoses, goals, medicines, services, and more.
• Stay up to date on your child’s care plan.
• View your child’s goals and objectives.
• Check due dates and statuses for your child’s goals and objectives.
