UniCare Continues to Expand Access to Behavioral Healthcare in Western Mass.

Growing network of providers offer variety of behavioral healthcare options for Massachusetts state and municipal workers

WOBURN, MASS. – In a continued effort to expand access to behavioral healthcare options for members, UniCare recently welcomed four new behavioral health practices in western Massachusetts to its robust provider network. UniCare administers health benefits for more than 200,000 Massachusetts state and municipal employees, retirees, and their families.
“Behavioral health has an impact on nearly every aspect of our day-to-day lives, and as we work to support the whole health of our members, it’s important we continue to offer options that support their mental health needs also,” said David Morales, general manager of UniCare. “UniCare is thrilled to partner with innovative providers in western Mass. as we continue to enhance access to behavioral health and ensure our members get the care they need in their community.”
The following behavioral health practices in western Mass. are now part of UniCare’s provider network:
The Brien Center, Pittsfield: The Brien Center is a community behavioral health clinic offering community-based behavioral healthcare and substance use disorder services at 25 locations around Berkshire County. The Brien Center provides mobile crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services for youth and adults. It also offers an adult community crisis stabilization program that serves as an alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization for individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders. The Center also provides an adult respite service for those stepping down from inpatient care as well as outpatient treatment services and intensive home-based therapeutic care. Clinical Support Options, Northampton: Clinical Support Options is a certified community behavioral health clinic and provides a full range of behavioral health and substance use disorder services through a network of six licensed outpatient sites. Four sites (Northampton, Greenfield, Athol, and Gardner) are state-designated community behavioral health centers, providing open access to outpatient, urgent, and emergency behavioral healthcare. Services are provided both on-site and in homes, schools, and other community settings. In addition to its outpatient services, CSO provides emergency and crisis stabilization services 24/7 for youth, families, and adults, as well as family support services such as intensive care coordination, in-home therapy, family support and training, and therapeutic mentoring. Colorful Resilience, West Springfield/virtual: Colorful Resilience provides outpatient mental health services in West Springfield primarily, but not exclusively, to BIPOC, LGBTQ+, first generation, and immigrant individuals ages 18 and up. The practice offers in-person therapy sessions in western Mass. and virtually across the state. Multicultural Clinical Services, Inc., Amherst: Multicultural Clinical Services offers a variety of therapy services including individual/group services, a youth mentor group, mental health counseling, trauma-informed therapy, cultural sensitive therapy, and LGBTQIA+ therapy clinical group for individuals ages 18 and up struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, gender transitioning, and questioning.
