ANDOVER, MASS. – Last week, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission (GIC) voted to approve UniCare as one of its health benefits administrators for medical benefits for the next three years.

“We’re honored and proud to continue administering health benefits for the employees and their families insured through the Group Insurance Commission as we have for the last 34 years,” said David Morales, general manager of UniCare. “Over that time, we’ve successfully managed the Commonwealth’s health benefits and focused on improving the whole health of our members and the community. Through our digital innovations, coordinated care programs, and dedication to providing consumer-focused customer service, we are committed to being good stewards of taxpayer dollars and ensuring a healthier workforce for the Commonwealth. We look forward to serving the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for many years to come.”

Headquartered in Andover, UniCare has served members insured through the GIC for 34 years, offering commercial plans as well as a Medicare Supplement plan. UniCare is the only health plan offering indemnity plans to GIC members.
