Dual-Eligible Special Needs Plans with Wellpoint
Wellpoint (formerly Amerigroup) offers plans with more benefits than Original Medicare to people who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. These plans are called Dual-Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs).

How to enroll in a Dual-Eligible Special Needs plan
If you qualify for Medicaid and are enrolled in Medicare, you may be able to enroll in or switch dual plans. You can do this once per Special Enrollment Period (SEP), or during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP). After you’re enrolled, you don’t have to renew.

If you’re not eligible for a D-SNP, we offer other types of Special Needs Plans (SNPs), including Chronic Condition Special Needs Plans (C-SNPs). Or, our Medicare Advantage plans offer similar benefits. You just need to be enrolled in Original Medicare to apply.
