When can I enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan?

 

You can purchase a Medicare Advantage plan once you’re enrolled in Original Medicare (Parts A and B). For most people, this is during their seven-month Initial Enrollment Period (IEP). This includes:

 

 Three months before you turn 65

 

 The month you turn 65

 

 Three months after you turn 65

 

You might also be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period, which allows you to delay your enrollment without late penalties. Certain times each year and special circumstances allow you to add, drop, or change your Medicare Advantage plan.
